Aalst-Erembodegem (Belgium), March 18 2016 –Ontex Group NV (Euronext Brussels: ONTEX), a leading international provider of disposable solutions in personal hygiene for babies, men and women, is pleased to announce that just two years after being listed on the stock exchange, it has been selected for inclusion in the BEL20® Index of Euronext Brussels and the Stoxx® Europe 600, both effective on March 21 2016. Inclusion in these indices confirms the progress Ontex has already made since its IPO in June 2014, in executing its strategy to provide high quality, innovative personal hygiene products and solutions with its own brands and supplying leading retailers with their brands.
Today Ontex Chairman of the Board Luc Missorten and Chief Executive Officer Charles Bouaziz joined representatives of other BEL20® companies in opening the Euronext Brussels stock market. The BEL20® is a free float market capitalization weighted index that reflects the performance of the 20 largest shares listed on Euronext Brussels, and is the most widely used indicator of the Belgian stock market. The index serves as an underlying for structured products, funds, exchange traded funds, options and futures. Stocks are screened to ensure liquidity and selected and free float weighted to ensure that the index is investable.
The Stoxx® Europe 600 Index is derived from the Stoxx® Europe Total Market Index (TMI) and is a subset of the Stoxx® Global 1800 Index. With a fixed number of 600 components, the Stoxx® Europe 600 Index represents large, mid and small capitalization companies across 18 countries of the European region.
