Aalst-Erembodegem (Belgium), 31 May 2016 – Ontex Group NV (“Ontex”) takes note of the decision of the Spanish Competition Authority (CNMC) in an infringement proceeding regarding alleged violations of Spanish and EU competition law against 8 manufacturers in the non-hospitalized reimbursed heavy adult care channel in Spain.
On September 2, 2014, the CNMC opened infringement proceedings against 8 manufacturers active in this channel.
The CNMC now concludes that the Spanish subsidiaries of Ontex (Ontex ES Holdco, S.A., Ontex Peninsular, S.A.U. and Ontex ID, S.A.U) were amongst the infringing entities and it imposes a fine of €5.15 million on them.
Ontex does not agree with this decision and will explore all appeal possibilities.
