Ontex Group NV announces changes to its Board of Directors and the dissolution of the Strategy Committee.

The Board of Directors of Ontex has appointed Mr. Gustavo Calvo Paz as new Chief Executive Officer, with effect from November 14, 2022, succeeding Ms. Esther Berrozpe.

Ontex announces that it has entered into a binding agreement to sell its Mexican business activities for approximately €285 million to Softys S.A., a personal hygiene company with operations across Latin America. Softys is a wholly owned subsidiary of Empresas CMPC S.A., headquartered in Chile.

Today Ontex opened a new facility in Stokesdale, part of Rockingham County in the U.S. state of North Carolina. The new Ontex plant currently employs nearly 100 people and manufactures baby diapers for retailers and lifestyle brands. The new plant is planned to expand its production and workforce to also manufacture other product categories.

Ontex commits to achieving carbon-neutral operations by 2030. The company will reduce its own greenhouse gas emissions by 50% by 2030. Ontex aims to achieve these goals through energy savings, on-site renewable energy production, purchasing energy from renewable sources, and carbon offsets via reforestation projects. Ontex also wants to cut the emissions of its global supply chain by 25% by 2030.

Ontex Group NV notes the recent press speculation and confirms that it has engaged in preliminary discussions with American Industrial Partners (AIP) with respect to a possible transaction that may result in a business combination with AIP’s portfolio company Attindas.

Ontex Group NV today held its annual general meeting of shareholders (AGM). Shareholders voted in favor of all proposed resolutions.

Ontex announced the official opening of its Global Excellence Center (GEC) for Process Engineering and Global Platform Innovation. In the presence of Ontex CEO Esther Berrozpe, the center was officially opened in Mayen, Germany. Around 180 people will work at the site, as operators of development production lines, engineers and lab technicians.
