• 469,000 baby diapers donated to families in need through Red Cross in North of France
  • Since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic, Ontex has donated more than 5.1 million items to help vulnerable people on 4 continents

Dourges, France – December 16, 2021 – Faced with the urgent need for personal hygiene products for families in need in the North of France, Ontex Santé France donates more than 469,000 baby diapers to the most vulnerable inhabitants of the area around its factory in Dourges, France, through the Red Cross in Northern France.

The Red Cross will be in charge of distributing all the materials from the donations in accordance with the specific needs of those in need.

For families who live in poverty, the purchase of baby diapers disproportionally impacts their family budget, especially for single parents or large families. People that were already financially struggling before the COVID-19 crisis started struggle even more today”, said Fabienne Berquier, president of the Red Cross in Northern France (pictured left). “This important donation by Ontex helps us to fulfill an urgent need during the coldest and one of the most expensive months of the year for many local families.

Since the start of the pandemic, Ontex has donated more than 5.1 million Ontex products in 14 countries on 4 continents”, said Stéphanie Durot,(pictured right) general manager for Ontex in France and the Benelux countries. “For many years, and as part of our sustainability strategy, we have been donating locally and try to reach the most vulnerable groups in society, such as the elderly in poverty, families with financial difficulties and refugees.” To ensure that donated products are offered to the most vulnerable groups in society, Ontex has a donation policy with guiding principles dedicated to increase the transparency of the donations. As such, each organization or NGO that Ontex collaborates with, needs to sign a contract with Ontex to assure that the donated goods arrive at the right place.

To combat the Covid-19 virus Ontex also used its forty years of experience in the production of personal hygiene products to set up a production for medical face masks at its factory in Belgium.

Ontex is donating personal hygiene products around the world. An overview can be found on ontex.com:
