Estimates say that the global population will reach 8.5 billion by 2030.

And while more and more people are having a chance for a better life, the rise in individual prosperity increases demand on already constrained natural resources.

On view of this, our sustainability strategy is built on moving toward a circular model. Centred on a design-for-recycling concept (including packaging), we look at every aspect of the life of our products recycling infrastructure and partnerships, alternative bio-based materials, biodegradability and reduction of the harmful environmental effects of our products.
We have set ourselves three goals in terms of the packaging we use, waste to landfill, and circularity.

With the launch of a Circular Economy Program at Ontex, we will execute initiatives reducing the environmental impact of our products while creating value for our stakeholders.

1Recyclable and recycled packaging

Our goal is that 100% our packaging will be recyclable by 2030 and we will increase renewable and recycled plastic in our plastic packaging.

2Zero production waste

Already a number of our sites have zero waste to landfill. By 2030, our ambition is that all Ontex production sites will have achieved this level and we will be in a position to turn waste into resources.

3Circular solutions

Circularity will become a prime design consideration in the design of our absorbent hygiene products. We will continue to build partnerships with research institutes, suppliers and waste management organizations to help us on this journey.
